About
I believe that every person is inherently beautiful, capable of greatness and worthy of love.
And you, Beautiful One, are fully included in that belief.
My name is Julie Parker, and it’s my vocation (and sacred mission) to help you learn to respect and adore your body, your gifts, and your intrinsic power — by challenging the limiting beliefs and life patterns that silence your song.
My Philosophy, In Practice.
No matter what you’re facing — or how lost and uncertain you feel — my coaching and counselling methodologies are universally effective. We will find your passion. We will tame those nasty inner demons. And we will shift your thought patterns and beliefs, so you can actively define what true happiness means - for you.
I bring 15 years of experience as a certified life coach and counsellor with a strong emphasis on eating disorder recovery and negative body image issues, both in private practice and for community organisations like SouthernHealth and TheButterflyFoundation. I’ve received qualifications in social work, workplace assessment and training and done countless amazing trainings focusing on self esteem, body image and the development of positive mental health. I’ve shifted troubled teenagers from self-harm to self-love, helped cancer patients reclaim their charisma, and am regularly invited to share my expertise at schools and universities, on national television and radio, and in magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, CLEO, and MAEVE. I’ve reached a point in my life and career where I can comfortably slip into my ‘expert shoes’ — and they fit just right.
My Wisdom. Our Work.
As a counsellor, I work with people dealing with dramatic transitions and life circumstances such as eating disorders, negative body image, relationship break-ups, and the day-to-day pain of depression and anxiety. Together, we walk the path back to stability, wholeness, and peace. And as a registered Medicare mental health practitioner, many of my counselling clients receive substantial rebates to cover the cost of their care.
As a coach, I work with people who are thriving (on the outside) but feel stuck, frustrated or unfulfilled (on the inside). Many are facing a career transition, longing to launch a business or strike out as a freelancer. Others want to attract The One, or create circles of friends that nourish and support them.
Whether we choose to work together in a coaching or counselling capacity, our goal is the same — to help you take measurable, magnificent strides towards defining and creating your Beautiful Life.
A Day In My Beautiful Life.
I live the life I want to live, because I’ve created it with care and intention.
I’m married to a man who has mastered the mysteries of the vacuum cleaner and is an amazing cook.
I have a 13-year old stepdaughter. She is the girl of my dreams.
I live in a creamy cottage home with a beautiful rose garden, just a whizzing bike ride from the beach.
I receive Christmas cards addressed to my therapeutic assistants — Cookie and Leo.
I’m financially and energetically independent. I earn my own money and set my own hours.
My days are rich with laughter, wholesome food, quiet moments, extraordinary clients and opportunities to write, teach, speak and shine.
My Beautiful Life is my own creation. It’s mine.
What does your Beautiful Life look like?
