The guest posts and giveaways keep rolling here at Beautiful You at the moment and I’m excited about today’s one in particular because it is by my very own kinesiologist Kerry Belviso. Kerry is a beautiful soul and outstanding at what she does. In fact she was my ‘not so secret’ secret weapon who I saw the day before giving my Tedx Talk to help me get grounded and fully present with myself before taking the stage. It was a big occasion for me and I’m so glad I saw Kerry the day before. Kerry has a wonderful post for you today all about your 2013 goals and how you can really align yourself to make them happen. Don’t forget – there’s a giveaway at the end!
Did you set goals at the start of the year?
Many of us start the year with positive intentions and we might even spend time thinking about and writing out our goals. But then, a month or so into the year, sometimes nothing much seems to have happened. By now, our goals might be feeling a bit too hard. Maybe we haven’t taken any action towards them. Perhaps we took some positive steps forwards but then we’ve stopped, for no apparent reason, sabotaging our success.
Often, one part of you is saying “I want to achieve this goal” while lots of other parts of you are saying things like,
- “I don’t deserve this”
- “It isn’t possible”
- “It’s too hard”
- “Other people might be upset if I achieve this”
- “What’s the point in trying”
- “I don’t think I can do this”
Do you recognise any of these? Then we might start beating ourselves up for being “lazy” or “not having enough motivation” to achieve our goals.
So is it true that you are lazy if you haven’t taken steps towards your big goals?
I don’t think so! In my work as a Kinesiologist, I have worked with hundreds of clients over thousands of sessions helping them to achieve their goals and I can tell you that when you’re wanting to achieve a goal and it’s just not happening, there is often a block. Things like lack of confidence, self-belief, self-worth, self-love and self-doubt are some of the most common, but really, your blocks are unique to you and your goals.
How do you know there’s a block?
Think about one of your goals right now. When you think about it, does it feel comfortable, exciting, calm, and like it’s on its way?
Or does it feel uncomfortable, unbelievable and bring up some negative feelings? Maybe you feel disconnected from your goal altogether – you don’t feel anything at all.
If it’s the latter options, it’s unlikely you feel confident about achieving your goal. You feel misaligned to it. There is a block.
What we want to do is to bring you into alignment with your goal.
So how do you actually do that?
Here are three free resources to help:
- Try some EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) - it helps you to clear any negative thoughts or emotions you might have in relation to your current goals and to create feelings of positivity and ease. I made a video for my clients which you can try at this link.
- Start re-programming your subconscious mind - sounds impossibly complex, but there’s a great video with steps at this link.
- Try manifesting techniques - you’ll find a fabulous video with Marie Forleo and Gabrielle Bernstein, resources to help with clarity and an excellent, free manifestation audio at this link.
If you’d love help to align to and achieve your goals, check out my DIY Kinesiology Kit. In it, I teach you my Alignment Process to identify AND clear the specific blocks that are holding you back from achieving your goals. It’s simple and it REALLY works to bring you into alignment with your goals. When you feel aligned you feel clearer and more positive about your goals, so you can actually take the steps towards achieving them. Check out the kit here.
We used my Alignment Process at the Day of Self-Love Julie and I presented at in 2012. Here’s Julie’s tweet from the day:
