If you are the type of person that likes to read blogs and websites like beautiful you then I think it’s a fairly safe bet to say you’re the type of person who likes to achieve things. Has goals. Is going places. Go you!
But even for highly motivated and juiced up people, sometimes we can all come across a stumbling block or even what feels like an outright brick wall that we need to overcome. It’s when those blocks and bricks start flying or dumping at our feet that things can feel really tough and goals and achievements we might have had a strong eye on can begin to waver. Our head can get filled with notions that we have to completely flip things (or even our whole life) totally around, or make drastic changes that can feel oh so hard.
And I have no doubt there are times in our lives that call for that type of overhaul but if wanting to break through or change or achieve something, I’m a believer that often the outcome we want might not nearly be as far away as we think. Could it be just a matter of tweaking something? Mixing up a pattern of doing things? Creeping up on a less than positively serving habit with some gentle love rather than a sledgehammer of hate?
I think it can be, and in fact I know it can be, with so many coaching and counselling clients I work with, where I suggest sometimes what may seem such a teeny tiny change – but one that can bring incredible results.
What some examples? Here are some real life ones that truly have happened and truly do work. They’re not hard. They’re not! You can do them too and reap the rewards for doing so.
Find yourself consistently overly hungry and listless in the afternoon? Eat a bigger breakfast of yummy whole foods that provides you with more energy and a warm feeling of fullness.
Struggling to fall asleep? Tune out from all electronics including tv and computer at least an hour before bed to give your brain a chance to wind down. Zzzzzzzz.
Got writers/bloggers block? Step away from the screen. Put down the pen and go do something fun, enjoyable and life affirming. Sometimes letting go is so much better than pushing – pushing – pushing.
Lost your confidence? Sit with a loved and trusted friend and ask them what their suggestions are for getting your mojo back and what they think you’re good at. Listen with an open heart, then ACT.
Trying to save for a glorious holiday, new bathroom, designer shoes? It’s the little things that count – the lattes, the lunches out and even the lollies! Track what you spend for just ONE week and you’ll find wee savings that add up to big purchases everywhere.
Always scurrying in the morning in a stressed state as you try to fly out the door? Clean out your wardrobe, jewellry and makeup cases. A tiny bit of organisation can go a loooong way.
You just might not be as stuck as you think beautiful you. Or it may not be as bad or as insummountable as your head is telling you.
